If the Russian administration wanted any excuses to crak down on dissent and the Caucasus, the recent bloody attacks in the Moscow metro provided them.
Expect big restraints on dissent (greatly approved by the general populace), crackdowns on ethnic Caucasians (Georgians, Chechens, Ingushs, the lot) and a lot of bullying of neighbours.
And then they have the gall to say sanctions against Iran aren't "optimal". Pah.

Someone should start an internet rumour that this, like 9-11, was an "inside job" perpetrated by the Russian government to justify a war on the Muslims.
Hell, inside of six weeks,it'd become the truth for a lot of people.
In the real world, I trust Russia will reply appropriately to these fine folks.
